LED power lighting standards international competition is fierce
Last year, many experts in the industry thought that it was the year of the global LED lighting market “blowout”. Such a large market attracted countries to carry out “wrestling” in standard setting. The dark standard of LED standards has become the weight of countries to grab the LED lighting market. From March 2009, South Korea took steps to develop and implement LED power supply standardization specifications. On April 20, 2009, the International Conference on Standardization of Lighting (IECTC34) was held at a hotel in Songpo District, Seoul, South Korea. The main content of the proposal was to replace incandescent and halogen lamps. The KS national standard for the development of LED lamps and LED lamps is promoted to the IEC international standard. On November 3 of the same year, the Technical Standards Institute of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of the Republic of Korea stated that the light-emitting diode (LED) lighting standard submitted by the country was adopted as the international standard draft of the International Electrotechnical Commission and is expected to be the first international standard for LED lighting.
In addition, at the international conference held in Hungary in October 2009, South Korea proposed a promotion plan, and will present more in-depth content at the international conference held in Finland in April 2010, in an attempt to grab the leading position of LED lighting standards. Actively promote Korean LED lighting products and measurement standards to become an international standard.
Seeing that the Korean LED power supply standard was thrown out, the US Department of Energy (DOE) finally released the final confirmed version of the Energy Star standard for LED light source lamps after three drafts, and requested that it be effective on August 31, 2010. . The ENERGY STAR standard was released nearly a month earlier than the planned end of December 2009. This clearly shows that the US Department of Energy is also eager to release the LED lighting standard as soon as possible, so that the LED lighting product specifications are followed, and the LED lighting order is properly maintained, through the development of international standards and advanced testing. The study of methods affects the formulation of standards in other countries or regions, thereby gaining more benefits for the United States.
In terms of the promotion of white LED standards for lighting, the fastest-growing country is Japan. In 2004, the four general rules of Japan jointly formulated the "General Rules for White LED Metering for Lighting", which became the only measurement standard for white LEDs for lighting. In March 2006, the four groups announced a revised version of this standard, adding and revising the original standard content. Currently in Japan, although the government and various industrial associations are also widely discussing the formulation of relevant standards, they have not yet entered the formulation stage and are still under review. Although Japan and other countries as LED advanced countries have been actively working on the standardization of LED lighting, they are still one step behind Korea.
Following South Korea, China and Taiwan have also begun standardization work, which is expected to be implemented as early as 2010. At present, Taiwan's "Ministry of Economic Affairs" Standards Inspection Bureau said that 35 kinds of LED-related standardization will be carried out in CNS (China National Standars), and 12 of them have been reviewed for standardization of LED lighting. In addition, the Institute of Industrial Engineering is currently working with the foreign certification company UL and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to lead the ACLED international specifications and lead the Taiwanese industry to take the lead in capturing the global lighting market.
On the mainland of China, on December 15, 2009, eight national standards were issued by the National Standardization Administration. In January 2010, the Working Group on Semiconductor Lighting Technology Standards of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released nine semiconductor lighting industry standards such as “Detailed Specifications for Power LEDs for Semiconductor Optoelectronic Devices”. At the same time, local governments such as Guangdong, Shenzhen and Shanxi have launched a series of local standards.
In addition, before the official introduction of the relevant national standard rules, in order to guide the healthy and rapid development of China's semiconductor lighting applications and ensure the smooth development of the semiconductor lighting pilot demonstration project, the National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering R&D and Industry Alliance organized the development of a series of technical specifications for semiconductor lighting products. In order to correctly guide technological innovation, control the basic performance of bidding products for semiconductor lighting application demonstration projects, and truly reflect the energy saving and emission reduction effects of semiconductor lighting products.
For example, the "Technical Specifications for LED Road Lighting Products for Semiconductor Lighting Pilot Demonstration Project", "Recommended Technical Specifications for LED Tunnel Lights" and "Measurement Method for Integrated LED Street Lights (Second Edition)" issued by the Alliance in 2009 have become pilot demonstrations for semiconductor lighting. One of the technical specifications for the engineering semiconductor lighting product series, followed by a series of technical specifications for the pilot application of semiconductor lighting. Although it is a temporary draft, the evaluation items and technical indicators involved are the most basic and have good assessment and operability. For the time being, they do not pursue comprehensiveness and integrity, and will continue to follow the technical level of LED road lighting products. The improvement and corresponding level of technical standardization are continuously improved and further revised.
